This video discusses changes to and around the Memorial Plaza area. This study was also called "Memorial Plaza Intermodal Access Project".

Hightlights
- focus is on access roads to Memorial Plaza (a later project is to focus on Memorial Plaza itself)
- improvements on Manville & Bedford Road
- largest change was removing "slip-lane" that left Memorial to Manville Road. This will increase the size of the plaza and improve pedestrian walking. Study shows no effect in traffic.

The Central Business District Master Plan Update Committee was formed to recommend to the Board of Trustees whether to make changes and if so what changes to the Village’s Master Plan as it pertains to the Central Business District (CBD) as defined as those properties lying within the A1 Zoning District and such other commercial areas.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.

Hello Residents,

Here are some important documents that are relating to the Village Board Meeting on September 22, 2008. Review and do not hesitate to ask questions about this. This is OUR tax-paying money.

Highlight - The Treasurer's Reports are the most interesting. The largest expense is the police department (combined divisions) at $2.8 million dollars which dwarfs all other expenses. It's almost 1/4 of all expenses for the Village.

Pleasantville Music Festival 2008 Update

Hello Everyone,

Passing this along. Pleasantville Music Festival line-up and option for free admission is below. So, volunteer and help out the community.

We are looking for Volunteers for the 4th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival to be held at Parkway field on July 12th.

The line-up is spectacular. Headliners include Joan Osborne, Graham Parker, Back Door Slam and the return of deSol. Pleasantville bands include Buffalo Eskimo and Nannyhagen Creek. If you take a peek at www.pleasantvillemusicfestival.com you can check out the whole line-up. MacArthur's Beer & Wine Garden, featuring refreshments from Captain Lawrence and Prosperos will be bigger than ever and also feature a clam bake and Pig roast. We have a great kids area with three bands just for kids who will play in the Vendor area and lots of other fun stuff.

Volunteers are needed for
set-up (8:45-11:00 AM)
Parking pass checkers 2 hour shifts beginning at 9:00
Merchandise tent 2 hour shifts beginning at 11:00 AM
Information Booth staff 2 hour shifts beginning at 11:00AM

So, would you be interested in donating two to three hours of your time that day volunteering in exchange for a free admission and a staff t-shirt?

Annual Firefighters' Parade May 30, 2008

Dear residents,

The Pleasantville Fire Department will host its annual parade on Friday, May 30, 2008.

We hope you are able to attend and show your support for our local volunteer firefighters.

The parade begins at 7:00PM at Bedford Road and Romer Avenue.

You can view the parade along portions of Bedford Road, Memorial Plaza, Manville Road,Grove Street, Edgewood Avenue and Washington Avenue.

In order to accomodate the large number of participants, there will be parking restrictions and traffic diversions along the parade route. It is advisable that you avoid driving into the downtown area.

Hello Everyone,

The Library is currently engaged in a community based strategic
planning process. The goal of the process is to allow the community to
assist the Library's Board of Trustees in designing a plan for
programs, services, collections and use of Library space that is
consistent with the wishes of the community.

I'd like to make you all aware that this Thursday (May 29, we're
holding a public meeting at the Main Library, 350 Bedford Road at 7pm.
All residents and users are invited to attend to share their ideas,
opinions and feelings.
